Markosia Spotlight On: Ash To Black Water

Each week we’ll be turning the spotlight on one of the many quality graphic novels from our extensive back catalogue.

This week it’s the turn of Ash To Black Water.

Imagine a country that was closed to the outside world for centuries? This is how life was in Japan 160 years ago. Whilst a claustrophobic population ripples with unrest, can the Tokugawa Shogunate’s tight grip over a nation possibly be unravelled by a small group of individuals? Fact and fiction are combined in this story of how passionate ambition sparked the end of an empire.

Markosia Spotlight On: The Shadow of a Terrible Thing

Each week we’ll be turning the spotlight on one of the many quality graphic novels from our extensive back catalogue.

This week it’s the turn of The Shadow of a Terrible Thing.

The Second World War had ended. Humanity was at its lowest, recovering from the death and destruction of millions of people and their homelands.

We were weak and vulnerable.

It was at this time that the Aliens decided to invade. They were advanced and all-conquering Aliens, in search of raw materials, resources for their own planet. Earth was that planet and it needed to be harvested and then destroyed before it became a powerful enemy. And it was now ripe for invasion.

Only the Humanity Department of Resources stood in their menacing way, and in the way of the total annihilation of our beloved planet Earth.

Markosia Spotlight On: Children Of Saigo

Each week we’ll be turning the spotlight on one of the many quality graphic novels from our extensive back catalogue.

This week it’s the turn of Children Of Saigo.

Kagoshima, Japan 1877. Before leading his clan against the the Empire and certain death, Saig Takamori, Japan’s last great Samurai, pulled aside a young soldier named Koji Iwanaga and gave him an impossible order: Koji was to flee the country, escape to America and keep the tenets of Bushido alive.

Koji obeyed, and, to this day, his descendants live under the code of the Samurai — sort of.

Meet the Iwanagas: Ben, Shiro, Zoe and Teron. Four siblings born and raised in Chicago, trained in sword fighting, and about one sit-down dinner away from killing each other. But when Tomoe Yamada, a Yakuza mob princess, arrives to collect their heads as trophies, the dysfunctional brood must put aside their differences to defeat Tomoe and her army of assassins.

Cue the gunplay and swordfights.

Markosia Spotlight On: DinoCorps

Each week we’ll be turning the spotlight on one of the many quality graphic novels from our extensive back catalogue.

This week it’s the turn of DinoCorps.

While dinosaurs as we know them remained lumbering beasts for millions of years, a more intelligent sub-species began walking, talking and became very anthropomorphic. But, like all intelligent creatures, it wasn’t long before war broke out.

The DinoCorps, who stood for justice and freedom and the rebellious Saurons fought to the death. The Saurons detonated a bomb that wiped out most of the life on the planet. Only luck ensured that a DinoCorp squad fell into deep stasis… not to be woken for millions of years…
