Markosia Spotlight On: Evil Cast

Each week we’ll be turning the spotlight on one of the many quality books from our extensive back catalogue.

This week it’s the turn of Evil Cast.

“Fans of horror comedy won’t find another comic this entertaining. I want to live in this universe.” – Sadie Hartman “Mother Horror” (SCREAM Magazine, Cemetary Dance)

Created by writer, podcaster, and horror super-fan Kyle Stück (The Night Shift, Humming Fools) and illustrated by Enrico Orlandi, creator of Dark Horse’s The Flower of the Witch, this comic bathed in blood and self-awareness follows fictional versions of Kyle and his longtime collaborator Noah Baslé (Ominous Media) as they find themselves caught up in a horror adventure filled with all the monsters and evil they previously thought to just be stories.

Whether it’s through the recreation of classic horror movie posters for each issue or the playful tribute and subversion of tropes, this is a must-read for fans of the genre. Deaths are bloddy, jokes are sharp, and horror easter eggs abound.

PRAISE FOR EVIL CAST:

“Evil Cast defies classification! Is is Horror? Comedy? Action/adventure? Yes! Yes! Yes! Each issue is a new twist and turn and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next issue. – Chris Lackey (The H.P. Lovecraft Literary Podcast)

“Evil Cast hits that sweet spot where snarky laughter meets spine-chilling horror. Horror fans will catch the nods to the genre while following along as Noah and Kyle unravel the evil that is waiting for them in the darkness…so they can throw rats at it. Alternating between goofy and creepy, horror comedy fans will keep turning pages to reveal the mysteries at the heart of the story.” – Lish McBride (Hold Me Closer, Necromancer)

“Evil Cast is the best work of horror comedy since Evil Dead 2!” – Tony Farina (Comics in Morion Podcast)

“From the horror reference cover to the jokes, Evil Cast delivers as a horror-comedy. Fans of the genre won’t be disappointed!” – Aigner Loren Wilson (Tor Nightfire, The Nightmare House)

Markosia Spotlight On: DeadEd

Each week we’ll be turning the spotlight on one of the many quality books from our extensive back catalogue.

This week it’s the turn of DeadEd.

The dead are not like you and me. They don’t walk, or talk, sweat or laugh, breathe or cry because they are dead, pushing up daisies, no more. The undead are an abomination, a blight on the world, created using dark arts or even worse, forbidden or cursed science. DeadEd is the twice dead. A product of dark arts and cursed science. Surely such a creature should be the ultimate destruction, but he Is not.

DeadEd has the body of Frankenstein and the blood of Dracula, and the desire to save humans, not destroy them. He is a badly needed hero in a world gone dark.
